Workplace Harassment

Workplace harassment refers to unwelcome and inappropriate behavior in a professional setting that creates a hostile or intimidating environment for an employee. This can include actions such as bullying, discrimination, verbal abuse, sexual advances, or any behavior that undermines an individual’s dignity at work. Workplace harassment can happen between colleagues, between supervisors and subordinates, or even from clients or vendors. It is often characterized by an ongoing pattern of behavior rather than isolated incidents and can lead to significant psychological, emotional, and physical impacts on the affected individuals. Many organizations have policies and procedures in place to address and prevent workplace harassment, as it can also have legal implications and affect overall workplace culture and productivity.
