Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each, where the objective is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is primarily played with the feet, although players can use other parts of their bodies except their arms and hands. The term “football” can refer to different codes of the game, including association football (soccer), American football, and rugby football, depending on the region. Association football, most commonly referred to as soccer, is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and is the world’s most popular sport. Matches typically last 90 minutes, divided into two halves, and can be played on grass or artificial surfaces. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, and it is played at various levels from amateur to professional worldwide, with numerous leagues and competitions, including the FIFA World Cup.
